Crimson is excited to announce a partnership with the Columbia University Alumni Association. The partnership entails a series of monthly webinars on topics related to Columbia University - admissions, networking, essays, academics, case studies and more!

The series will end with a quiz, where participants will be tested on details covered at each of the webinars. The winner will receive an internship with the Columbia University Alumni Association of the UAE, as well as credit to use on Crimson services!

Soraya Beheshti
Managing Director at Crimson Education, Middle East, Africa & Turkey

Soraya went to Columbia University from Dubai College and used Crimson Education to help gain admissions + scholarship. She self-studied 2 A-Levels. She founded Karvan, a fin-tech non-profit building innovative blockchain technology to improve the lives of refugees around the world that was recently matriculated from IBM’s Blockchain Accelerator in NYC

Omar Almutawa
Researcher and Member of the UAE's Youth Councils

Omar Almutawa is a researcher focusing on global affairs and public sector transformation. He earned MA and BA degrees in Global Thought and International Studies from Columbia University and the American University of Sharjah, respectively, where he explored trends in globalization and their impact on policy. Omar is also a member of the UAE’s Youth Councils and the former UAE Youth Representative to the United Nations

Noora Al Qassimi
United Nations - Department of Political Affairs, New York

Noora studied Law at University College London (UCL) after which she pursued the steps to work as a corporate lawyer in the city: Legal Practice Course (LPC) and the two-year Training Contract at London headquartered international law firm, Norton Rose Fulbright. Her legal path took some interesting turns including gaining experience in Paris and Dubai, as well human rights litigation at a leading NGO. She  earned a Master of International Affairs at Columbia University in New York, after which she earned a two-year position at the United Nations. Noora now works in the UN’s Department of Political Affairs in New York, where she focuses on politics in Southeast Asia.

Adil Hussain
Business Analyst at McKinsey and Company

Previously, Adil was An associate at a NY-based consulting firm called Keystone Strategy that primarily specializes in matters relating to technology and serves major technology leaders such as Microsoft and Amazon. Adil graduated with a B.A. in Financial Economics in May 2018. While at Columbia, Adil co-founded a club – the ‘Global Ambassador Program’ – that fostered intercultural dialogue between international students and the domestic student body. He also played a key role in establishing strong data practices at Columbia’s local chapter of ‘One For The World,’ a nonprofit promoting ‘effective giving’ amongst university students and young professionals to eradicate extreme poverty. Coming from a family of educators, Adil hopes to one day reshape the educational system in the United Arab Emirates.

Noora Alshehhi
Educator at Excellence Swiss Blockchain

Noora Alshehhi is a Certified Public Accountant (USA) with MBA degrees from Columbia University and London Business School. Noora has over nine years of experience in both the public and private sectors in digital technologies, data analytics, audit, governance, quality, and risk management. Currently, she is working with a Blockchain Education Startup in Dubai to promote blockchain technology education in the region, a knowledge she acquired during her studies in the US and UK
