Like many Hong Kongers, Yik Siu used to envision her higher education as studying either Law, Medicine, or Business at a Hong Kong university. She had never thought of studying overseas until she read an article about having an international education three years ago.
Born with an adventurous soul, Yik Siu was inspired by the idea of studying with people from diverse backgrounds and decided to apply to universities overseas.
Why Are Crimson

From HK to UWC to Top US Liberal Arts Colleges

Like every high school senior, Yik Siu went through the arduous process of university application while maintaining her performance in academics and extracurricular activities. Her hard work gained her admission into top US liberal arts colleges and top UK universities including London School of Economics (LSE), King’s College London (KCL), and Warwick University.

Now, she is off to Wellesley College, a top liberal arts college in the US!

In this Crimson Education webinar, Yik Siu will discuss her experience studying the IB curriculum in a UWC, how she navigated the stress of her academics, university applications, and extracurricular activities, and why she chose to study in the US (and more specifically, Wellesley College, among all her other top universities offers)!

I already knew how to get good grades and test scores, but it wasn’t until I met with my strategist sophomore year that I realized the importance of extracurriculars. I had just been in school clubs and varsity sports, but was able to start working on a non-profit that we integrated heavily in my application to Harvard.
